The Jinqiao Flooring Installing Project for Tianjin Juilliard School has Been Successfully Completed

    Tianjin Juilliard school, is the first overseas branch school of the American Juilliard School, which is the world's top professional music school. It located in Yujiapu Free Trade Zone, Binhai New District, Tianjin City, China. After its completion, the school will become the cultural hub of Tianjin, China and even the whole Asia region. The total investment of the project is about 1.53 billion yuan. The 450,000 square-foot building is designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the same firm responsible for the 2009 expansion of Juilliard’s iconic New York home.

    Because of the special functional requirements of the project, installing floors became much more difficult and complex. We need to work in both areas at the same time, the no acoustic reflection, (planes, aisles, rehearsal rooms, libraries), and acoustic reflection,(the stage and chairs of the concert hall).At the same time, we need to meet the strict requirements on music performance effect and safety quality. Party A has set a series of systematic parameters for the products in the early stage, such as acoustic reflectivity, formaldehyde emission, water absorption and expansion rate, fire rating, wood texture, color of top layer and so on. These strict and high standards of demands will become another ultimate challenge in the history of installing flooring.

Jinqiao Group not only needs to check if other projects in the early stage will affect installing flooring, but also cooperates with the subsequent installation of the seat hole, reserves the evacuation indicator hole, stair lamp hole, sound control door and vents, switches different installing ways on the basis of floors at different angles.

In the past, on the normal surface of the general fine decoration project, every installing technician can lay 100-120㎡ every day. But for Juilliard School Project,  every technician only can lay 10-30㎡ every day, which shows that the difficulty of the project is great and the requirements are high and unprecedented.
